WeDict Free for IPhone 2G FW: 2.2
Hi All! I upgraded my Iphone 2G from 1.1.2 to 2.2. Jailbroken. I lost WeDict (for 1.1.2) and I can't find it free for Ver 2.2 anywhwre. AppStore has only Pro Version.
I love the app and in dire need. Please Help! I am desperate for the app.
But want it free.
Regards,

Hmm. I downloaded the free version about 2 weeks ago and added Merriam Webster from Cydia. But you're right, I only see the Pro version on App Store now. Uggg
Wonder what happens to existing customers when an app goes away. Hopefully it will remain, but what about upgrades and restores? Hmmm

Did the same, upgraded and lost wedict. Don't wanna pay $5 for the wedict pro. Found a free dictionary app called "Dictionaire" from the app store. It gets the job done. 14MB download.

@ronzo. I sent an email to Apple saying that during a phone restore WeDict would not load. What should I do?
They offered (I accepted) WeDict Pro) for free!!
Try it, might work for you. BTW: My original purchase date for free WeDict was Sep08.

Thanks for the heads up but I got wedict way back on 1.1.4 software and it was free so I don't have any way of verifying a purchase. But I just downloaded the "Dictionaire" for free and punched in a few words to check it out and seems good enough considering it's free. I'll give it a whirl for a while and see if it holds up.

Wedict Pro!
Thanx guys. Even I got Dictionaire. It's good, but not as good as WeDict.

Yea, WeDict allows you to add multiple dictionaries whereas dictionaire is an app to itself. But again, the price is right!

I upgraded and jailbroke and resynced WeDict from iTunes and its working fine. Installed the add-on dictionaries from Cydia. So far so good.

@TheOrioles33. Great to hear. It not available on AppStore, just checked. Guess my iTunes copy got corrupted. Nice to know apps will still load even though they're no longer available. Although the Pro version is better I'ld still like a my old free one to work - just in case

There was a time it was crashing so I uninstalled it. I just installed it after reading this thread to see if it would work. I would be happy to post a copy of it but I dont think it would work. Would it?

Don't know for sure, but I'm at legit user with a corrupted iTunes version. It might work for me. PM the ipa and will give it a try.
Update: email probably better
Update2: Doesn't work. This exposes a big-hole in Apples iTunes/sync/iPhone application method. If you bought an app, but Apple later removed that app (ie: NetShare) it will continue to load. However, if your iTunes copy becomes corrupted, there is no way to fix it!!!! This stinks big time!!!Last edited by Mes; 02-05-2009 at 07:23 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I really wish they would put the original version back on the store! This is my favourite dictionary.
