Strange Network Issues with Apps & Jailbroken 3G
So I have tracked a very strange issue. I have two (possibly more but these are the only 2 that I have noticed so far) applications that seem to start having network access trouble after about a day. The simple work-around is to reboot my iPhone and all works fine for about another day (wish I had discovered this before I did a complete restore and re-jailbreak). Please note that all other apps using the network work just fine.
The trouble:
- After about a day the "Bank of America" application, which is just a front end for their web service through iSafari, begins to come up with the error "Bank of America Mobile Banking cannot open the page because no internet connection was detected." This only happens when you click on the sign-in button, and the app works fine for Locations (which uses the net connection).
- After the same amount of time the "Remember the Milk" app, begins to exhibit the same behavior. The app starts, but when you go to sync you get "No connection There was a problem establishing a connection to the Internet. Please check your network settings and try again."
Trouble shooting done (no effect):
- Tried on WiFi
- Tried on 3G Network
- Tried on Edge Network
- Cleared Cache, cookies, and history from safari
- Turned on and off airplane mode.
- Turned OpenSSH off and on.
A reboot of the iPhone will take care of it. (I did not see if this issue resulted before jailbreaking as I really can't live without some of my jailbroken apps for the day to test it).
iPhone apps (short list): iPhone Software 2.2, Jailbroken (QuickPwn on MacBook Pro), Winterboard (with a couple of themes running), SBSettings, Notifier, iBlacklist, SpringJumps, PdaNet (not used really), Respring, Flashlight. Pretty clean install as I just restored. Tested the functionality of both apps in question after each install and there was no effect on the functionality. It took a day before failure.
If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, I'd love to give it a try. Let me know.

Same Problem
I have the same problem with my BOA app, however the Google app and the AOL radio app together all fail just as you describe. See if they can work for you as thier free from the app store. Other apps like you said work just fine. These apps def work before I jailbroke my phone. And for me the failure somtimes happens within a few hours of rebooting the phone. Annoying as hell....
Is their someone else out there that can dupulicate this anomaly and maybe shine some light as to what the problem is....?

After a while of troubleshooting this, and after a reinstall I realized that it had to do (at least I think) with PdaNet. By default, after install, PdaNet has the router turned on. When the router is on, it seems to screw these programs. Don't know why. Seems to have fixed it for me.

Working
PorthosPirate, I beleive your completely right. After disabling the router on PdaNet I had to restart the phone to make the apps work again but they have been working ever since. Good thing too cause I was wondering why my devices were picking up weird ip address automaticlly sometimes. I knew it was something simple and small we were overlooking..... it usally is...
