Talking GPS

Does anyone know if there is a talking GPS app? Something that will say, "turn left ahead." I'm tired of having gps and having to pay attention to it while I'm driving, not exactly safe. Thanks in advance!

No, there is no 'talking turn by turn' gps app for the iphone yet. This might have to do with a clause in the development kit forbidding applications "designed or marketed for real time route guidance" - which sucks. We'll see if Apple gets with the program and gives us what we want, not what they think we should have. If not, maybe the 3rd party devs will jump in and do their thing..

How lame. Is it not a 'no brainer' that any comprehensive GPS device NEEDS turn by turn directions? I hate Steve. Thanks guys

I don't think it has turn-by-turn voice guidance. It's just another lame "Where-Am-I" GPS application with cached map.

But iphone is fake triangulated GPS. It doesn't know exactly where you are so how can it give exact directions?

Really necessary one, maybe with some apps, we can just make one app to combine with iphone's build in gps, when the gps is running, our app could read its signal.
