iPhone Voice Recorder Suggestions??

I am trying to find a voice recorder app for the iPhone that does the following:

- automatically email myself every voice memo I record
- choose the audio file type (format) of the recorded memo

The closest that I've found are "Note-To-Self" or "Voxie Pro Recorder & Dictation"...the problem is that neither of these programs allow you to configure the file type of the recorded memos...

My goal here is to be able to have voice memos automatically emailed to myself, which I can then playback directly from within Gmail's web interface...GMail doesn't seem to offer the ability to playback AIFF files, which is the format both of the apps I've listed above record in...however Gmail does offer the ability to playback MP3 files directly from within the web interface...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Well, I don't think you will find one that fits all your needs, but here are a few good ones:

1. Audio Recorder - has one touch email capability, but no audio configuration.

2. iRec Voice Recorder - also has email capability and saves the audio in .wav file formats.

3. I use Newpea Audio recorder - which gives you the option of mp3 and mp4 formats, but I have to manually extract the files to email. To me, this is the best quality recorder out there.

4. You may one to try nRecorder as well. This one gives you multiple audio formats, but I don't think it has email capability yet.

5. The last one you could look at is iDicto Recorder. Has email and supports aiff and caf formats.

Good luck!

thanks for the feedback...it's only a matter of time before someone figures this one out and comes out with an application that does exactly what Note2Self does but also allows you to record in MP3 format specifically geared to Gmail users...

In case such a developer happens to read this post, another awesome feature would be the ability to 'tag' a recording prior to emailing it out, then this 'tag' could be added to the message body or the subject of the outgoing email which would allow Gmail users to create Filters to sort their notes using different 'labels'

Guess we'll just have to wait

Thanks again for your feedback!

I downloaded a few recording apps and the best so far is iRec Voice Recorder. You can easily email your voice memo and audio quality is really good.

I'm looking for an app that can record a phone conversation on the iphone, and automatically sync my recordings to iTunes. yes, i'd also like it to email recordings, but this means they can't be 1meg/minute as with .wav files. there is an app in itunes that looks like it could work: Ultimate Voice Recorder from Clickapps, at $4.99.

support on their website (clickapps.com) is not excellent, so any feedback from actual users would be useful.

cheers,
euphonius
