I agree!! I was very surprised when testing it out that it couldn't find my contacts. That's mostly what I was excited about. I'm sure that they will incorporate this in a future update. The voice search does work amazingly well though and very fast.

They can't incorporate contact search through voice since the translation is done on Google's servers and it would be a breach of privacy to have them search your contacts on THEIR servers.

Edit: For what it's worth, the app was crashing while inside my office. I work at a hospital and don't get any service inside. I'm on our wifi system, but a lot of stuff is blocked. As soon as I went outside and got a phone signal the app worked fine. I'm back inside now (no cell service) and it's crashing again.

So no proper connection to the mothership apparently closes/crashes the app. Feature or bug? =)

Anyone else having problems with this app crashing every time it opens? Runs for 5-10 seconds, asks if it's OK to use my current location, then crashes to springboard.

Tried hard reboot, uninstall -> hard reboot -> reinstall, uninstall -> hard reboot -> re-download -> reinstall and still having the same problem.

Seems like it'd be a pretty dang cool app if I could get it to run.

No cracked apps on my phone (not even jailbroken).

But, they are not searching our contacts on their servers. All they are doing is parsing the sound file through their voice recognition servers then returning the result to the search box. The app on the phone then does the searching.
