Google Mobile App - Voice Search - Tips and Tricks
|
Google Mobile Application was updated today in the US. It now has Voice Search. Here are a few Tips and Tricks in using it.
Try these tips and tricks when using the Google Mobile App:
Quicker access to the keyboard To pull up the keyboard in the Google Mobile App, tap the 'Search' tab (twice if you're not already on the 'Search' tab). You can hide the keyboard again by tapping the background of the app.
Search without buttons You can access Voice Search without tapping any buttons by lifting the phone up to your ear. Once you hear the tone, speak your search terms.
Find your search terms on a site You can push and hold down on a search result in the search results to search within that site..
Multiple Google Apps accounts You can enter multiple domains for your Google applications under the 'Apps' tab. In the Domain section of the Settings tab, just separate multiple domains with commas.
Performing different types of search Tap the magnifying glass dropdown menu next to the search box to choose between searching across your iPhone and the web, Maps, Images, News or Wikipedia.
Start screen Usually Google Mobile App will start up on the last screen you used. But from the Settings tab, you can manually choose to have the app always start up on Apps, Search, or Search with the keyboard.
Works great for me. Works best with a North American accent. Other languages to follow soon.
