voice dialing question.

Since it seems that Apple will not let apps that conflict with with functions that are already in the iPhone or iTunes, would it be safe to assume that Apple will not add a Native voice dial ability to the iPhone...

Yes I know what happens when you assume

There is one available called Say Who. It is in the appstore and it is free. They make Say Where also.

It takes a little to long to load but it works REALLY good! Much better than any other one I have used (on any phone!)

Yeah, it does take a bit to load. It is a lot safer though than digging through contacts while driving.

I am a bit leery about why it requires a data connection to work and the devs haven't answered my email about it. Why would it have to transfer internet data to use speech recognition?

Ah that's because it doesn't try to decipher what you're saying on the phone. Instead it sends the clip to their servers, and then back to you. Makes it faster, I suppose, or at least less memory consuming.
