Hello,
Is it possible for a developer to revoke their applications, after they
are part of the AppStore? For example, say you put an App on the
AppStore, and then decide to supercede it with a different named
app, can the old app be removed from the store by the developer?

I don't think the developer can manually do anything, I think they need to go through Apple directly. I know that devs don;t have any say over updates (can't do an update from, say, their own website and all updates need to first be approved by Apple.)
