also looking for the same thing. very useful i was thinking that you can copy the "applications" folder entirely and it wil save all your apps, but as to the settings i havent figured it out yet but it might work if all the preferences are saved inside the program folder and not a seperate folder

the closest thing i've found so far is to use the app "aptbackup" by bigboss. it saves a list of current jailbroken apps you have installed via cydia and syncs it with itunes so that when you restore, you rerun the app, click restore, and it will reinstall all your apps. you will have to reselect your themes and such but it saves a ton of time.

People, quit acting like you need an automated app for everything. Use your head.

SSH into your phone......

- Copy /Applications folder
- Copy /Var/Mobile/Applications folder
- Copy /Users/Library folder

That'll pretty much cover everything except the iPod side of the phone.

so after i back up those director and i sync to itunes..i can just drag them back onto the phone and all my apps and catergories will be back?

id imagine that the apps i have wont be recognized in the app section since it wasn't synced threw it. correct?
