I Hate The Way The App Store Is Setup Now!
Don't know if it is just me or what but I can't stand how they have the app store set up now.....
Under the new section all the same apps and different dates.... some of them have been released in August!
I am already tired of going through each section to see what is new... I liked it the other way much better....
Apple fix the dang app store will ya!

Yeah, I'm pretty annoyed that they got rid of the "All iphone apps" link. It's really hard to see all of the new apps.

Yeah that bugged me too. Every now and then I would check out the Free Apps and check the newest free/updated apps, now it's just a hassle like you said. Anyways, I heard the reason behind that change was because devs didn't like it when their apps would get pushed back a page or two when new apps or updated apps are released, this is all thinking that their apps won't be noticed as much.

Well the dev's apps can't always stay on top? Then what about any new dev's apps? Those don't matter?
Finding new apps is like finding a needle in a hay stack now.... I used to get excited to check out the new apps and free ones....... hope it doesn't stay like this..... there is nothing that I can't stand is.... organized confusion and that is what the app store is now......

The larger issue is that Apple is allowing garbage onto the appstore and rarely anything good. Whats the point of being all strict about what is allowed in if they allow in all this trash?
and everything needs a trial, making me pay 10 bucks for a game that turns out crap without a return is just stupid... and they wonder why people resort to cracks!Last edited by sziklassy; 10-07-2008 at 08:25 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Ever since the change I've been using AppShopper to see what's new and what price drops have happened.

Well most companies don't give out trials with their games and such even though we would all like them... and if the company was smart and they had a good app they would give out a trail....
And I can not agree with you more about some of the crappy apps that is allowed in the app store....
And how people turn to the cracked apps..... I am a honest person myself and have paid for everything app I have but have thought about modding my phone lately....... because I want to of the cool stuff to use that I see floating around... LOL

That's what I was saying. Are people just not understanding what I wrote? This is based on the old system using the latest app feature tab. If I make an app, it would show up in the first page. But then if 100 other devs made/updated an app right after, then my app would be pushed back about 3 or 4 pages. Would I be annoyed that my app, that I just made, is no longer on the first page where it will not be noticed? Yeah, I would. Do you get it now?

Yes I get it. Don't think you do though. The problem with your theory is that there isn't 100 updates for every new app. Anyway, you were insinuating the opposite of what you just stated above; that the system was changed to accomodate developer's wishes. Now you're saying that the developers are annoyed. Bit confused there.

Well this is a hard subject then... the dev's want their apps to be on top and we the shoppers want a easier solution to shop in the app store than this.....
So now there is a real problem......
Lets all think together and see what we would do to fix this problem for the dev's and us also....
I think they should have a new area
A update area
And a free area
This way anyone that updates their apps doesn't push someones new app out and then we could see new apps that come out and free ones as well.... what do you think?

There is a difference between a theory and an example. When I said 100 updates, 100 was just a number, an example. I also didn't say that there were 100 updates for "each" app, it's all together meaning 100 or x updates throughout every app. So out of (example) 34,203 apps, 100 were updated. Yes the "devs" were "annoyed" with the "old system", that's why the system was changed so that new and updated apps will no longer get the spot light (in the first page) while theirs did not, its all equal now. Wouldn't you be annoyed if you had created a game, which had to be pushed back a couple pages because (example) 100 different developers decided to create their own version of a cowbell app. Do you still not get it?

As it is, it sucks. It sucked before. Its a mess.
You have to remember that its all new, this model has NEVER EXISTED before. There has never been a single onestop shop for all apps for an entire platform. Apple have created a miracle (it was obvious for me, i have no idea why it took so long, but thank god apple did it and now everybody is copying). They did all this in a few months dont forget!
in less than 2 years apple have turned 2 entire industies on their heads. Yes its going to take time to get it right, what we need are constructive ideas on how to help Customers find Apps easily, thats best for everybody.

Wonderful comment! And yes Apple has created a miracle and of course now once again others are going to copy Apple.... but the app store was nice the way it was before the change for the shoppers..... they just had to make the dev's happy....
But now they have the dev's happy I hope because without them we would have have these wonderful apps... now they have to figure out how us shoppers can get to these programs right away.... LOL
APPLE IT IS CALLED ADDICTION to the App store for many people out here.... so please fix it! LOL
