New VOIP application?!? - Pennytel
Am I the only one that missed this?!?
There's an app that I found by searching the app store "VOIP" that offers better rates and better packages than truphone

... I'm working to get some credit on my account - will advise when I have some more info on how well it works, call quality, etc.
I searched modmyi.com without finding anything about it... Anyone?!?

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

Yeah, the rates are super low
If anyone has used this, can they comment on call quality? Since Skype's being stubborn, Truphone and Pennytel seem to be the only options.

Seriously - frankly I think it's pathetic that Skype is dragging their feet here... Perhaps most of the customers they might be able to benefit already have accounts and therefore the money isn't there for them but with millions of iphones and iphone 3Gs sold it seems that this is an important market particularly in light of the assumption that these are early adopters and that they will grow the market... I don't get it. Will advise.

I read some other reviews about Pennytel, most state that it is difficult to connect, others say its flawless. So I am confused. I seriously need to start using VOiP in 2 weeks, lol I'm moving out to another country :P

I found that Fring with Skype out is tolerable - sometimes a little delay but if you can put up with it it's a lot better than paying AT&T International rates or getting another cell and paying the international rates. And if you're calling the U.S. $3 for a month's worth of calls to U.S. land and mobile numbers is pretty good.

. The app is called Pennytel Mobile. I meant that I found it by searching the App Store with the phrase "VOIP"...
