So you've probably seen the guides that let you create a free US iTunes account with a voucher/redemption code from a website, and that probably works just fine for you.
But the problem is that it only works for United States accounts - all well and good if you're in the US, but what if you're overseas? Say, living in Australia? Or, the redemption codes will expire in the future - what happens then?
Some of the apps available for the app store are only available in certain stores, plus the Free Single of the Week (and occasionally free TV shows) are different in each market too.

Using my guide that I've written up over at Tech Wired Australia, you can *easily* and *quickly* create a free account that works for *any* iTunes store - so you can have accounts from all over the place
(for example, I have accounts for the Australian, United States, United Kingdom and Canada stores, all for free).

Cheers for that will give it a shot. I take it will have to create another iTunes acc in US store,? as it will redirect back to the Oz iTunes.

Nope, it'll create an account in the store you chose in step one - it can be anywhere, not just Australia or the United States.

Beau can I use the same email address "internationally" and have it sync which store I want to use when I synch my phone?

ie: user@gmail.com for my CAN acct can i use the same for the US store?

Hey mikeymcco;
Not sure if iTunes will even let you use the same email address on more than one iTunes account - not a good idea anyway, as it could potentially keep redirecting to each store every time you try to log in - not good. A workaround (for Gmail at least) is to add a plus after your gmail account (eg, user+US@gmail.com for your US account - user@gmail.com still gets the email.) - more info here

As for synching your iPhone/iPod touch - the account that's currently logged into iTunes on your computer will be synched to your device.

I am using the latest version of iTunes (v8)

make sure that you follow the guide exactly - if you don't attempt to purchase an app, you wont have "None" as a payment option.

ummm, i m on a mac will that have an effect? i m on 7.7.1, maye it won't work on that. i tried it on the philippines store

any help?

I did mine on a Mac, and it all works just fine.

I'd suggest upgrading to 8.0, and see if that helps.
