Credit card details!!!!

Hi i live in south africa so i was wondering the only way to get a app store account is to put in ur credit card details or is there some other way so i dont need to put them down.

I think you need a credit card but you may not. You may not need one if you try to redeem a gift card.

If you are only planning on buying appstore apps, you can now create an account from South Africa, using your credit card, paying in $.
If you want to buy from the iTunes store you'll have to follow the instructions in the link above using gift cards.

The link is great however, the link to get the free code on that page is expired. Use the page that vandy1997 gave for instructions. To get a free iTunes redeem code you can go here. I just used it and it works.

Thanks for the update. It's too bad that Apple doesn't have a system in which more people can participate. Hopefully that will change as the iPhone is sold in more countries.

you can use paypal....its a secure payment service and so you don't have to give apple your credit card numbers

If I am not mistaken you cannot use paypal with apple!!

If you can please show me a screenshot of the apple page that shows that.

You can use paypal, but your info has to be from the us otherwise paypal won't work with a new itunes account.
