    Default All about iTunes remote
Heh, been playing with it so far very good controls tunes anywhere around this home. Anyone having any problems?I am not, really all I wanted to say was, I was lying In bed phone in hand and tapped the remote app. It looked for my computer and I am startled by the sound of my computer powering up! I did not realize the app turned on the computer as well as controll iTunes! I am impressed

Default Remote Tip - access iTunes Radio also
I was frustrated that I couldn't access Radio in iTunes using Remote. I played around a bit and discovered that it could be done. Here's how:

I made a new playlist; I called it "My Radio Stations."

Then in iTunes select Radio under Library.

Find station you like and drag it to your new playlist. Now Remote will see it.

    That's it. Try it.

The remote won't turn your computer on, it won't even play a song unless iTunes is running.

Yes it does. You running windows? Always have it plugged into the wifi? Turn off the computer then open the remote and the computer will power up. It wont find the libary but it will turn on the PC.

... I don't think it has the power to turn on the computer dude. When your computer is off its not even connecting to the network. Maybe your computer is on STANDBY
Why Donate : Because apps should not have a pricetag =)

No my computer is OFF. Plugged into the wall still has power, Network cable plugged into PC and Wireless router. iPhone connected to Router through Wifi. I open the app and shortly after my computer spins up. Router and Ethernet port on back of PC light up. Remote.app turned on my PC

I honestly don't know how it can turn your computer on. My Macbook Pro does nothing until I power it on and open iTunes.....then the remote app finds my iTunes library.

Does anyone know how to get it to search youtube through an apple tv? When Im connected to the ATV it only gives me itunes controls, but if I use the "gum stick" to select youtube, then I have control. Does that make any sense? Basicly I want to control youtube on my ATV without having to use the "gumstick".

I keep getting calls from Geek Squad..You know at the local best buy
My PC in the shop .....apparently IREMOTE turns on my computer even at their location

    WOW.... (couldnt help myself..Tooo Funny)

    Seriously thou.....
DUDE your computer must be on standby mode.. I did test this and yes it does bring the unit out of standby mode, connects to the library and plays the respective songs...even at the lock screen. If the system is OFF, its not on the network thus it wont find the library.
    Major credit to the Programmers.
Your efforts makes the IPHONE that much better. Thank You! Without you, There is no Us!!

no, my computer if off I don't do standby I select shut down and it closes all programs and powers right down. All fans stop no keyboard reponse, When I open the app the computer spins up, BIOS boot screen, XP boot screen, windows is starting and there I am asked to log on. I do so and then the computer loads, start up apps etc.

This man is the first one with the right answer.

In other news, does anyone know if there's any way I can get remote to make itunes play music from a shared library.

My music is all on my windows home server, and is shared from there. My itunes on my media center pc can see that library and play from it, but remote won't let me access it. Ridiculous. This is how most people's home theaters are set up (the music is on their pc, and the media center accesses the library remotely)

    And what do I win?

Wake on LAN is something I've never actually used, and I wasn't sure exactly what it was for, but it sounded like a good guess.
