    Can anyone tell me what the red badge means when it shows on the weathebug icon, maybe I'm missing something but there does not seem to be any feature on this app to access notifications and cancel them

    why? Its not like its contantly checking the server.. like the old weather app, it only accesses it when you run the app. so no drain on the battery

    Yeah, thats one of the good things about Apples guidelines. Apps cant run in background and kill the battery.
