Appstore > Installer/Cydia?

I've been thinking.
soon enough many appmakers will soon be making apps for appstore.

therefore they would actually make a profit from their hard work.

what would become of installer/cydia?

Installer / Cydia will always be around for apps either free or commercial that apple will not allow. Things such as summerboard for example which will not be allowed on appstore will only be available on jailbroken phones. And summerboard is just a small example of many.

Long before appstore there were devs making a profit for their work, many apps on installer and cydia were/are trialware or demo's. The benefit of appstore is that it brings the apps to a much larger audience. But apple also has a lot of restrictions on what developers can and can not make for the appstore apps.

its fun being able to make your own apps with no rules instead of fallowing what apple says, let alone paying 100 dollars just to get your app on app store

The Apple SDK is really limited compared to what the Homebrew scene uses. Look at BigBoss' Light app, it can actually change the brightness to maxium, unlike the light app in the appstore. Apple doesn't allow devs to change the brightness, something that trivial is blacklisted...

Why bothering comparing the two and just benefit from having both instead?

Actually I've been having a decent amount of crashing/freezing issues with Appstore apps

It is with me. I had better luck with 1.1.4. My 10 app store apps are all bugy, I have to restart the phone many times because of freeze ups.
