Same here toothfairy! Lately I have been texting much more and run out of my 200 texts in a couple weeks. With this new feature I will be able carry on a conversation without using a single text message...

Cant wait for this app. Server side based too!! great for constant data connection dropping cell phones. I bet this will beat the sidekick as the best mobile IM (at least when the push feature is done. Still wish apple would grant some none apple apps to run in the background ARG!!!)

Again, this will just utilize the data plan, not count towards the text messages portion of your plan, correct?

My only question is, how are you going to keep the server costs covered with a one time purchase price? I probably wouldn't buy it if it were monthly priced, but I could see a monthly fee being required to maintain the server side part of this...
