Thread: AppStore Issues, anyone?
07-12-2008, 12:24 PM #1AppStore Issues, anyone?
After downloading about 80 apps, 60 were probably free, and i spent about $150 downloading apps. I have noticed some issues with the app store. Most, if not all, apps that I downloaded, when I open them, they crash back to the springboard. Sometimes, they restart my iPod as well. The Native Apple Apps, on the otherhand, such as Music, Videos, Maps, Weather, Youtube, Notes, Calculator, Photos, etc., do not crash at all.
Similar issues are what are represented in this thread.
Has anyone else been experiencing these issues?
I just got off the phone with an Apple representative, and an Apple Product Specialist. All they told me was that it was my ipod, bring it to the apple store, theres nothing wrong with app store, nothing is wrong with the app.
When you pay $150, why don't they work?

Where was one of them. AIM is the most frequent for me. At least I know I'm not the only one.

Where is for me too..
iMaze and AOL Radio have been doing it too..
I am doing a restore as of right now because when I first got 2.0 I downloaded from apple and shift+restored, so maybe if I do it all through iTunes I wont have a problem O.oProud MMi Retired Moderator.

i heard that all u need to do is to delete the app and reinstall it...

I tried deleting and uninstalling when I had it..
But the restore worked for me! Before I used the Shift+Click with the firmware from apple and the apps didnt work, but when I restored and updated through iTunes, the apps work.Proud MMi Retired Moderator.

one thing that might be causing the issues - it seems as though my itunes store password isn't getting saved. maybe that is the normal function. but, it seems as though whenever i enter in my itunes password, the apps that are crashing stop crashing. almost like its making sure that i actually downloaded/paid for the app by checking to see if i can log into itunes store correctly.
just a thought. try downloading another free app (which will ask you for an itunes password) and see if you can use the apps that were crashing

Try turning your phone off and on (not asleep, but actually off).

I've tried turning my phone off and back on, the programs still crash. I've tried a few more, and they all crash.

Got the same problem too... I have downloaded around 20 apps from appstore, and they worked fine in one day, but now, every single app crashes back to the springboard! This happened only 24 hours after i downloaded them. What is going on? If I delete an app i've paid for, will I still be able to get them back without paying for them again?

Alot of apps are still on version 1.0 so expect some to be buggy (cough *AIM cough). Hopefully the updates will fix these problems.
