SMS alert in 2.o

Is there a better SMS (louder) in 2.0 than in 1.x?
Is there a way to customize SMS alert in 2.0 with a ringtone?
if no to above, is there a way (you think) an app can be or will be created that can change the SMS alert?

You are stuck with stock apple sounds.
