Well I stepped up and opened the antenna cover and attached a lanyard I had on my Dash to a screw right by the speaker. It feels secure enough for me. Here is some pictures.

All I need now is a new antenna cover and the bottom part of the BSE skin. I scratched it up a little.

No, that is why I will buy a spare unmodded antenna cover just in case I need to return it for repairs...
