anybody help please i cant downgrade to 4.1 or 4.01

have been trying to get back to 4.1 firmware after ugrading for the 2nd time to 4.2.1 and a tetherd jailbreak but some tweeks like sbsettings didnt work so want to downgrade again but keep getting error saying firmware not compatible so when i choose another firmware 4.0.1 it starts to extract and goes through the motions of restoring phone software and then at the last stage i get another error saying iphone could not be restored an unknown error occured (1015) and the phone is back in recovery mode..

my 3gs was orignaly on 3.1.3 firmware and i have saved all shsh in cydia and on my pc

Yea a 1015 error is baseband u will need to use tiny unberrla or idisco to kick it out of recovery mode and the firmware thing u might want to make sure u have the right firmware and it's not like a gm build of a 3G firmware if u have the right firmware restore to 4.0.1 kick it out of recovery mode and jailbreak with jailbreak me

The restore to 4.0.1 you said resulted in 1015, that's fine. It's a successful restore. Like ^ said, TinyUmbrella will kick it out of recovery and then you can jb as normal.
