Gold Plating Your Iphone
Does anyone know where I can get my iPhone gold plated here in the US? Most of the companies that do that sort of thing are located in the UK.
Any help?
Thanks...

Turn to 3rd party workshop or factories, or just get gold bezel and gold housing, it will help.

Oh that's a great idea. It's an apple product AND gold!!! If that's not asking to be stolen I don't know what is......
Then again, I would go for a titanium case for mine.

I considered this heavily but Tiger92 summed it up. No functional value, it'll scratch just like the silver will, and...you're still setting yourself up to get robbed. xD
Either way though, on ebay, you can order the backplate separately. Once they ship, bring it to any Apple guys capable of getting it done. I have a local Microcenter that can do this for me. Not sure if you guys are as lucky.

Huh... you'd probably have to replace the back though with a goldplated one, since plating with metal requires dipping the object into liquid...? Never thought this was possible, but my device's back is getting pretty scratched up...
Meh...

Persoanlly, I agree with Tiger92. Both parts of what he said actually, If I could find somebody in my town that could put a titanium back on my iPhone I would flip ****.

shouldn't be too hard to just get the gold backing put on

If it really is gold you're going not going to get as many bars of signal.
The metal is going to form an rf shield, a poor one due to it not being a complete faraday cage but one regardless.
However there are some clever plastic coatings that look like metal but aren't.
