Okay. Having looked all over google, asked at an Apple Store, and searched under just about every rock that might have a charging adaptor under it, my question remains unanswered;
Is there any way to connect an iPhone 3G to a usb hub and have it charge when the computer is not connected/asleep, and still work as a data connection when its plugged in??
There is a way to make an iPhone charge off any usb port my shorting the data pins, but this means it cannot sync..
There is also the Scosche passPORT (Scosche passPORT Car Charging Adapter - Apple Store (U.K.)), a car audio adaptor to get rid of the "charging is not supported with this accessory" error, but I cannot find any mention of this being used with a USB hub and if you can still sync through it!
So, passPORT owners, have you tried this? Anyone else, do you know of any adaptor that makes this possible?
Hi to all,
The Universal Serial Bus (USB) has become a popular method of connecting computer peripherals. The original USB 1.1 specification limited data rates to about 12 Mbits/sec. Each USB device requires some way to power it. The device may run entirely from the USB port such as a jump drive does. Some devices have internal batteries that need charging.
