I used this Blue Case with Clip for Iphone, i like this color, and its clip allow me attach my iphone to the purse strap when i go out. And thanks to the clip, i can also attach the iphone to my waist, so i can listen music when i'm washing clothes. Like it!

I assume you've purchased one by now but for what its worth: I kept a Skullcandy on my touch 3G. Not much fall protection. The rubber could absorb a little bit but mostly, the 'case' is all cosmetics. It looked dope tho. :P

I use a silicon case by Incipio. It grips really well and adds no bulk to the phone.

i have the incase slider and without it my phone would be barely working if at all. it fell down my 14 concrete flight of stairs like a wheel pretty much hitting the stairs in every way possible and i was like oh my god i need a new one then i went to get it and it worked like i never dropped it. best 25 dollars i ever spent. only thing better is prob a case made of bubblewrap

I'm currently using the Agent18 Ecoshield slider. It's quite nice actually. It's got rubber strips along the sides of the phone, and the logos on the back are also rubber. It's just enough so that the phone won't slide off a surface, but easily out of your pocket. The best part about this case, that I have not seen with other hard cases, is that there are rubber coverings for the volume and power buttons. Perhaps the only thing lacking of this case is that it doesn't wrap around the front of the phone as much as the InCase slider does.
EDIT: I picked it up at Marshalls for $7. I can't believe this thing retails for $35! Here's a YouTube review:

While on the road, I use just a slip-on thick rubber case that goes on and off easily. I do that, because it usually stays locked in the dash mount.
If I'm out and about, it goes into the Otterbox. It would stay there, but I have yet to find a dash mount that will fit it.

I personally recommend the ID wallet Case
iPhone Wallet Cases, iPhone ID Credit Card Cases for iPhone 3G/3GS at Case-mate
It fully protects your phone, and it's so slim you barely notice it is there. Plus you can carry around your ID and credit card in it. I've completely replaced my wallet with it. The less stuff I need to carry around the better.
Plus everywhere you go, you get attention from clerks, etc. Always saying "That's a cool wallet!" It would just suck if you lost it.
