    Default Mophie air pack

Quick question...can I just charge the pack and use it when I want or does it have to be on the phone in order to charge it? Sorry did a quick search and didn't find my answer, plus I'm going to be travleing soon to East coast from hawaii so I wanna order this ASAP if it's worth it.

Every once in a while I have to insert my phone to get the pack to charge on its own, but this is just intermittent. Kinda odd.

I tried one and didn't like it because it limited me to carrying my phone in my pocket because there weren't any holsters or clips to fit it. It was a little on the heavy side. iPhone was difficult to remove from Mophie.

the holster type (2200 mah) is a wonderfull piece of equipment, but as stated, you have to remove the phone from the holster and set it back in to "remind" the juice pack that there is an iphone attached. You do NOT have to have the iphone in the juice pack to recharge. it is just easier when you are on the road alot. your "charge through" cable is simply a mini usb cable. use the usb port on your car radio to charge AND listen to your music. i would sometimes leave my juice pack charging for a day and use my phone. Then at nite, or when using the TOMTOM app, or some other high juice sucking app, i slam the phone in that hummer, and am good for 3 days. again, you have to take the phone out of the holster every now and again, but other than that,
    LOVE IT!
