cable adaptor for external batt to iphone?

ok im currently look for a backup batt for my iphone 3GS and i see most of them just plug to the iphone.. i like it but not really because when im playing games/movies ect i dont like the backup batt hanging there and looks like it can damage the pin connector on the iphone if i accidently pulled it....is there a cable they make to plug it to the backup batt to the iphone so that the backup batt wont hang on the iphone itself..i like to be able to hold the iphone charging as if i was charging it from a usb/charger

i picked up one these battery packs for mine, APC Mobile Power Pack, 10Wh just has a USB port on it, so you can plug anything into it that charges off usb, but for the iphone, just plug the cable in, and off you go, get two full charges on the iphone 3g off a full charge from it.
