Motorola S9 HD

Hey, this weekend I got the Motorola S9 HD stereo bluetooth headsets for my iPhone with 3.0 Beta 3. The first time I used them last night for like 10 minutes they worked great. Today though, the music works for the first minute and then it skips horribly. Do they usually skip music when they are in your pocket or is it because its 3.0 Beta or did I get a faulty (or wrong) headset?

It depends, when I am working out and they are in basketball shorts I never have a problems with skipping. If I am wearing jeans and have a shirt that extends over the pocket then I will get some skipping. It is annoying! I dont know if the s9hds have crappy range or if the iphone has crappy range. Since the receiver for the s9hds is in the rear, sometimes I just put my iphone in my back pocket.

BTW it is not the firmware because it did the same thing with my bluetooth dongle I was using on 2.2.1

Yeah thats when it skips for me, when its in my front jeans pocket. Does putting it in your back pocket help?

Do you think its the iPhone's range then? And is extending the range something that could be handled by software or would it have to be a hardware update?

I dont know because it skipped sometimes with the dongle and that was an external antenna. When I put in my back pocket it helps. Also it seems to work better with the screen facing in towards body. I never have problems with my slacks, cotton shorts, or any light weight fabric. It does not like denim

I see, I'll try that, thanks. Hopefully Apple updates the bluetooth in the new iPhone this summer to potentially alleviate this issue.

Hmm...just walking back from class and putting them in my back pocket didnt help lol. I noticed in the booklet that metal can cause skipping etc.. I wear 2 metal necklaces: a gold/silver necklace and another silver necklace that are right by the receiver when i wear the S9, do you think that could have any adverse effects? They are like small chains tho.

Mr-T cant rock the s9's then, it would suck for him, but i have the regular s9's not the HD, they never gave me a problem, after reading this post, i stuffed them in my shorts pocket, and put on some jeans over them and no problem, i even left them in the room and went to my kitchen and still good, only when i went two rooms over it skipped and lost signal

I have a pair of the S9's and they skip as well, seems like it is an issue with the headphones rather than the iPhone beta software.
I was looking into getting a pair of these Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800, anyone have any experience with these?
