    Thumbs up Allkit FM Transmitter

My car is notorious for ignoring FM transmitter signals, so when the one I had that worked died on me, I tried everything to find a decent replacement to no avail. Picked up one of these babies at Simply Mac after a couple of recommendations, and it works like a charm.
The signal is strong and clear, and to date I haven't had any interference from other stations even while traveling. The controls are user friendly, big bright display for the tuner, good button layout, though once or twice I have changed the frequency accidently while adjusting the holder.
The holder itself is quite nice. Padded, sturdy, adjustable clamp accommodates iPhones, all models of iPod or any other mp3 player. There are several options available for input as well. The now standard Apple connector is situated at the bottom of the unit. It comes with a two sided 3.5 mm audio cable for hands-free iPhoning or to connect other mp3 players to the unit. The jacks on the cable even have the tapered base to fit the recessed headphone jack of the 2G iPhone. There's also a USB port on the right side of the stand, though I haven't tried it out yet. The holder itself is on a sturdy joint with an excellent range of motion. I've had it standing straight up, I've had it laying flat in landscape mode for road trip movie watchin', and anything in between. The stoppers are adjustable, and the whole unit attaches to the cigarette lighter on about a 6 inch length of flexible goose pipe.

There are no instructions beyond the tiny descriptors on the box and a tiny paper inside, but everything is pretty self explanatory any way. My only complaint is the hands free phone mode takes some fiddling to get it to work. If you have the iPhone plugged in to the bottom, you have to have the phone in use or music playing before you connect the audio cable or the unit won't recognize the input.

All in all, I highly recommend this transmitter. As adaptable as it is, it's a good deal at $60, and a great deal at the $35 I paid during the store's mega sale

    Default Allkit FM Transmitter Question

I just purchased this transmitter and, as you said, it works beautifully. For some reason, however, I am unable to set and have it remember the frequency (103.5) of the most signal-free station in my area. Are you able to set your device and have it return to the same station when you power up again?

Thank you for your help. As you know, there are no instructions...
