this innovation came about when one of my old winter gloves had a puncture at the thumb
notice i didn't cut it off bc i need to put my thumb back in, cuz its damn cold here

Don't jest. Not all the gloves have holes. I need to get a pair of Dot's gloves to mod my motorcycle gloves. There is no way I am exposing my fingers.

Most of them are sailing gloves (for tying knots) marketed to snowboarders and skiiers to use their touch wheels on older iPods. These have exposed thumbs or flaps to lift and expose fingers. Even if I was willing to expose some fingers on my motorcycle, motorcycle gloves are used year-round and typically VENT air... these insulate it and do not provide hard shell protection or significant abrasion resistance.
