Case Mate Case compatiblity question

Ok, I have a 2g Iphone and the only case that I apparently seem to like is only made for the 3g iphone according to their website, and I was wondering if anyone on here knows if this case will work possibly, since its rubbber/silcone, heres the link, thanks

I havent tested that specific case, but others close to it.

Even though its "stretchy" the edges tend to slip off and wont stay because of the difference in size between the 2g and 3g.

You can get away with it on a "pouch" type case, but these just wont wrap.

well the main reason Im curious is because my friend has a 2g iphone and he bought a 3g case at best buy thats very similar just w/o the tire tread design on back and it fit great, it was very tight around the edges too.
