Looking for a very specific car mount/holder
Hi all,
Hoping you guys can help me find a car mount for my iPhone. I basically want a "dock" for my car. I want to be able to plug the iPhone in to the mount with it's dock connector so that I have charging and line out audio capabilities. I already have a car charger with a USB port and I'll be using the aux-in on my head unit for audio. I've already found this to cover my charging/audio needs:

[ame=http://www.amazon.com/SendStation-PDLO-USB-PocketDock-Line-Out/dp/B0009X499G/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=12235829 69&sr=8-1]PocketDock Line Out USB[/ame]
If anyone has a cheaper solution than that that offers charging and audio out of the dock connector, not the headphone jack, I'm all ears! The Apple one is $50...
So that leaves me with finding a holder. Basically, I want something like this, but much less expensive:

ProClip Mounting System *-*Padded Holder with Tilt Swivel and Pass-Through Connector
$99 for the holder plus $30 for the vehicle mount is just ridicilous. It would also be nice if it would hold the iPhone with a case on it, but I'm not sure if that's an option. I'm definitely open to buying a universal holder and possibly fabricating it to mount to the ProClip vehicle mount, but I need a holder that I'm able to somehow secure the Pocketdock Lineout USB to in order to make everything a one-step affair. I want to avoid having to plug a cable into the iPhone after putting it in the holder. Hope you can follow that. Maybe I'm asking too much for under $150, but I don't think so! Let me know your suggestions!

FlexibleDock is what I use for my iPhone. It works great. It was really built for older gen iPods but it works like a charm. Too bad they went out of business. I bought mine off of ebay a while back. Scour the net to see if you can find one. iLounge rated it an A+. The flexible arm is sturdy enough to hold the iPhone in place, it charges it via cigarette lighter and there's an audio out port at the base where I plug in my cassette adapter (in your case your aux port on your stereo). Very clean looking and no headphone wires hanging off the top. Good luck!

That FlexibleDock looks like your iphone/ipod could just fall out when you turn. But for $50 and audio out you can't beat that, I might consider one of those.

The iPhone (or any iPod for that matter) actually locks into the dock pending of course on how thick your case (if any) might be. There are two buttons on the sides of the dock to release the iPhone. Happy hunting! Let me know if you find a place that sells them. I have a lot of fellow iPhone users who would be interested in purchasing one

Is it just me or do all (car) docks look and feel like a third grader made them out of popsicle sticks, glue, and macaroni?

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

iPhone Mounts at RAM Mounts
I have used RAM mounts before and had great success attaching my Samsung Q1B ultra mobile PC to my Harley for navigation and other uses. Try this link to see an idea of what they have available for mounting iPhones and iPods just about anywhere.
