Default Car folks help me out... bluetooth/3g question

    Hi all,

Ok I have a parrot ck3000 bluetooth kit in my car which i love. Well I used to. With an old nokia phone (6500classic) I could use it as a bluetooth handsfree with voice dial and listen to mp3's through my car speakers (not great quality but ok).

I have since upgraded to an iphone 2g and found that due to the limited bluetooth I lose the voice dial and the ability to listen to mp3's.

For that I bought a wireless transmitter which also charged from the cigarette lighter. A bit fiddly but for long journeys well worth it.

I have now gone for a 3g and found that my speaker dock at home does no longer charge the phone and i suspect the car cable will not either.

I have a windscreen suction cup with the phone sitting in it, and a bluetooth kit that lets me speak to people and answer/hang up calls but I feel its far from perfect. Is there any way (a dock?) I can mount my iphone into my dash when I get in and this acts as a speakerphone with the parrot kit as well as charging/playing mp3s through the speakers?

This is a long post, and I feel Ive asked so much, but its depressing looking at the phone in the cradle, talking to people on the handsfree and realising it looks a lot better than it really is, and there is no relationship between the two.

    Many thanks

I know it's not voice dial, but "CallMe" app in Cydia is great. Basically makes a small picture of your contact as an app (can do as many as you want). It is great and really doesn;t distract any more than having to push a button on the parrot in my opinion. Yeah, I agree voice dial would be nicer since you can call anyone, not just contacts, and if you have alot of contacts, sorting through them can be a drag.

Anyway, haven;t heard of anything working directly with the parrot but sounds like something I would like to try and set up if available.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.
