i keep seeing things like this :

which I'd love but I already have a bluetooth car kit and do not want the above simple thing to kick in when I receive calls. Having said that I tried receiving a call with bluetooth kit off when connected to my griffin fm transmitter and it did not switch to hands free... does that mean that the above item might not do it?

I basically want a cigarette lighter cradle like above that FM transmits and charges, but I dont want it to affect my bluetooth kit which currently kicks in fine when listening to my old 2g iphone itrip on my iphone 3g (obviously it doesnt charge now..)

Check into the CarFM from PDO. Its a dock that can do handsfree talking, play music, and charge the iphone 3g. It's got amazing sound quality for an fm transmitter. I wrote a review on it somewhere in here. It's $49.99

thats the one i linked a picture to, anyone know one that doesnt do handsfree calling and will not interfere with my bluetooth car kit?

I don't think it will actually interfere with you car kit being that this thing doesn;t do its thing of Bluetooth.

With the CarFM, it won't do handsfree unless you run the aux cable from your headphone port to the carFm dock. Otherwise, you just plug the dock connector in to your phone and you get music and charging. And then use your bluetooth for handsfree.

the belkin tunecast is pretty damn good... you can find it online for 65 if you hunt for it.
