Hardware Development -- charger concept
I do not know where to put hardware development projects for the iPhone, so for now, I put it here.
I am developing an inductive charger to attach to the back of an iPhone to allow you to skip docking it, in order to charge it. There will be some kind of automatic alignment, somewhat like the power plug on a MacBook.
the charger will consist of two pieces. The harvester will get power from a wall socket or a car socket. The pancake will harvest the power inductively and feed it into the iPhone.
This is an OPEN SOURCE project. monitor my progress at

I will be delighted if anyone wants to help.

Love the idea! Site progress looks promising. One suggestion: Assuming it would have some sort of plug that would go into the bottom port, make whatever plugs in there have a pass-thru port on it so you could still connect the iphone to a computer, apple boombox, car ipod jack, etc. They were talking about this kind of charging at CES.

Yes a pass-through plug is a great idea.
