depends on how much you want to actually spend. currently i'm using Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 pro and i'm pretty much in love with them. they are $$$$, but you get what you pay for. i had the Shure SE210s and they were a bit more comfortable but the UEs sound better. i think the Shure SE110s are about $100 and UE just came out with some iPhone compatible earbuds that are decently priced.

What type of SkullCandy headphones? I have the Full Metal Jacket headphones and they are great. Plus you get a great warranty from SkullCandy.

I hope you contacted SkullCandy to get the replacement instead of buying the additional pairs of headphones.

Good choice. Go with the 11mm and keep the model number from the package so you can register it on their site for the lifetime warranty.

JVC Air Cushion Stereo Headphones - Black (HAFX66B)

These are by far the best I've ever used. Apple buds aren't even on the same planet as these. Sound quality is amazing, comfort is unmatched. They come with 3 different size silicone ear adapters and a set of memory foam adapters. The plug is also a mini-plug so no adapter is needed for use with the iPhone. They also do a really nice job of blocking out most outside sounds, so be careful wearing these on busy city streets. I switched from a set of Sony Fontopia's to these. I hated the behind the neck style of the Sony's.

I use Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5EB's and I love them.
As a secondary pair, I use the original V-Moda Vibe's (not duo)

I can also suggest the Sennheiser CX series for single-driver listening.
And of course, the best you can get is the Shure SE530's at the moment.
