For all of you who like sleek non bulky approach to protecting (somewhat... doesn't cover front) your baby try the iPhone case made by Cozip. Slim slightly rubberized (not enough to pull all your **** out of your pocket when get a call) and tight fit. check it out.
The agent 18 case is also very good... similiar to the incase slider

I have the leather Case-Mate flip case with holster, but am awaiting the arrival of my Cozip Polycarbonate case. I like the Case-mate, it's made well but, the flip part gets on my nerves, I think if I had bought the open face design I would have stuck with it. Looking forward to trying out the Cozip...should be here tomorrow.

I have the Pacific Rim iShield. It is made from pleather and was only $15. But I cut the knob off the back since I don't use the belt clip. I was looking at the Vaja cases and they look pretty sweet but are expensive.
What I want to find is a case that is soft (silicone/rubber) on the inside and hard (plastic/leather) on the outside. No one makes one like this that I can find.
The reason is because I like to keep my iPhone in my pocket and a rubber/silicone case sticks in my pocket and collects lint like crazy. And only hard (plastic) cases start to scratch the chrome on the iPhone after a while, especially if dust or dirt comes between the hard case and the iPhone.
If anyknows of a case that is soft on the inside (less likely to scratch the iPhone) and hard on the outside (easy to slide in and out of my pocket) then let me know! I guess I will stick with the pleather until I can upgrade to a nice leather case (Vaja).

as well as being soft on the inside so phone was not scratched (also protects if you drop it !

I just switched to the Incase Slider and it is sweet. I got myself the glossy black one and my wife the while. Very classy, actually looks better with the case on! I had someone look at it and didn't think that there was a case on it! The slider bottom is a very tight fit and I had read where someone broke theirs trying to get it off. I recommend to use your fingernail alternatively on either side (not right in the middle where the plastic is thinner) to pull it off. Check it out!

i used to have the iskin revo. good protection but gets dirty realy quick. now i'm using the white incase slider and i put a BSE screen film protector on it. i'm satisfied with the this combo and i suggest it for the style and screen protection.
