SwirlyMMS Patch For AT&T Users!
As some of you may know AT&T has been blocking iphone users from sending MMS . We were able to use swirly for a while and the all of a sudden it stoped! We now cant send or recieve any mms. Some have reported being able to send again after getting a new sim form AT&T but after a few messages it is blocked again. Im not sure how they are blocking this but if someone can figure it out and make a patch I would be willing to donate as I know alot of others who want their swirly back would do the same!

I have been running version 0.3.2 successfully since it's release on AT&T. If you go to the swirly forum you can download that version and SSH it onto the phone... Just keep the existing installation but replace the files inside the app folder with the 0.3.2 stuff. (That's what i did after I upgraded to 0.3.3 and started having problems with receiving) Test it out and let me know you come up with.

obviously your not on att and dont know what going on... AT&T is somehow blocking ppl with iphones from sending mms messages. even if you have family plan with mms packages you cant send .. im asking for someone to figure out how they are blocking iphones , if its by sim , phone number, imei,ect... and make a patch to get around it

Oh, lol I misunderstood what you were asking. They know that you are using an iPhone by the IMEI and if you are activated on EDGE, it tells the network what browser you are running. Even still, you wouldn't be able to apply a patch to avoid them blocking you. As long as you have edge activated they will be able to tell what kind of phone you have.

That sounds odd. I know when you send data transmissions on edge, the receiver can tell what browser you are using. I'll try to look into this for you and find out exactly how and why they block it.

I have two phones, the iPhone(8gb original (JB)) and a Blackjack II. Am able to send/receive MMS on the BJ II, but the iPhone, not so much. When I had Swirly MMS installed, I could receive an MMS, but not be able to retrive them.
Tried using the ip address I received when using SMS, but when using an ip address, there isn't a proxy.
MMSC: mmsc.dotson.net (this seems to be acceptable)
Proxy: 172.23.1.158:8800 or 9201
APN: cellular1(seems to be acceptable) or cellularone or cellular1wap or cellularonewap
So if someone is able to determine the proxy, it may work.
Am new to this, but hope this helps.
