Thread: Quicklock for iPhone 5 / iOS 6.1

  1. #21
Still no one fix QuickLock 2 on 6.1 ?

Looks like Nobita is creating an app called Lock Now that will be on Cydia in a few days. Here is a demo on youtube: LockNow is QuickLock for IOS 6.x run on Ipad/iphone3gs/4/4s/5 and ipod touch - YouTube

Can't believe apple haven't sorted an app for this problem. They are available on cydia but apple should be all over getting this app on the App Store. It would save them a lot of money and hassle with people taking phones back with not working sleep buttons.

I'm actually working on something similar to this ATM, it's a tweak which will let you use an activator action to lock your phone with a passcode. It will take me about 5 minutes to just make it lock your phone. I'll get back here with a .deb in like 1/2 hour.

That's great! An activator action would be even better. Any luck with the .deb yet?

Does activator not already allow this???

    Yes it does.
Also, I don't see the need to use a password to lock your device =S

So... What is activator? And how do I make it add an icon to lock my phone on the home screen? Thanks

Activator is a tweak that lets you program gestures to mimic certain buttons and stuff.
If you don't already have Activator (comes with SBSettings), download it from Cydia and get on it.
It does not let you add an icon.

I use three finger spread to lock the device, and three finger pinch to mimic the home button.
Works like a charm until there's a new Quicklock out.

Oh right, I didn't want to jailbreak my phone though.

Then there is no way for you to get a lock icon on your Springboard either.

Yeah I know... That's why we need an app to be developed!

And that app will be available in Cydia, not AppStore. For sure.

Yeah, for iOS 5 and below, but not for iOS 6. Which is what this thread is all about

I too really need a app that will mimic the sleep/power button to send the phone into "sleep" mode. I've tried a bunch of old stuff on Cydia and nothing is compatible with 6.1 iOS.

  17. #37
They are right that if you are jailbroken, you can put your phone into sleep mode if you have 'activator'. Just pick which gesture you would like to use, and select the 'lock screen' option. I don't know how I skipped over that before, but it works great.

    Any news on this?

I just submitted a tweak which passcode locks your device via activator. It's called TapTapPass, and it should be in the repo soon.
