iPhone iTunes Wi-Fi hack, Use It Over EDGE
When the dev's crack the 1.1.1 firmware, don't you think that they should make a hack so iTunes Wi-Fi can be used over EDGE?

its too slow
why would anyone want such a thing.. and if a lot of people will actuallly use it, it will make edge even slower for using on safari, overall: bad idea...
just my opinion

i agree, I think the only resin that its not available for edge is because att knows how slow it already is and they can have it be any slower because people are downloading music.

But if you are using installer.app, themes (3.0MB) only take 2 1/2 minutes to download. And most songs are only 2.5MB, so it would only take 2 minutes.

yea i agree i wouldnt mind waiting 2 mins for a song but i still would mind paying for it so either way im not going to need it if paying is required unless somone makes a bearshare or limewire for iphone.. that would be sweet

i disagree with most, having this over edge makes it 100x more useful, using wifi is useless, its faster yes, but if you live in hawaii, there are little to no places with wifi , it home and work and i have my computer with me at both locations. edge is slow, but ive downloaded 4mb packages in nothing short of a minute or two. thats a minor glitch to have any song in the palm of your hand, any where...
i think its wifi only so that the edge network doesnt take a beating... its all a conspiracy

I'd really like to use the store over GPRS/EDGE as well. Its great to browse around if you're bored, but the wifi requirement stops it being all that useful.
I'm going to have a go at doing it myself. Not much experience in disassembling, but in light of some of the comments here, I'm doubting this will ever be done unless one of the people who want it can do it.
I'd like to be wrong though

i think it is good idea. at least for appl like "locate me" ,where you don't have to looking for wifi hot spot.

Sounds like there might be reason to access the store with Edge...But I'm hearing that WiFi is much faster.
As I'm trying to decide between buying an iPhone now or waiting for 3G, I'd love to get everyone's WiFi experience polled at this thread: http://www.modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157181
