Statusbar Notification

i have this app installed with notify pro for the android style notification system. for some reason it only pops up on my status bar to notify me of mesgs like half the time, anyone know why this happens? is there a better option for this style of notifications that isnt as buggy?

I use OpenNotifier. With OpenNotifier you can customize icons that popup at your statusbar and choose which icons you would like for each of your apps, programs, etc... This is the best ever and its FREE!
