Export maps that are readable by offline map apps

Heey guys,

not exactly sure where to post this,

It has come to my attention that there are a tonne of Offline Map solutions that seem to do half of what most people want.

I am in search of a program that can export Map files (sqlite, sqlitedb etc) that are readable by a specific map application.

For example, if I am an OSM fan rather than a google maps fan,
I want to be able to open iPhoneBrowser, locate the document folder for CityMaps2Go, and simply place the map file (being whatever size I choose) in the folder, and continue to use it on my iPhone in the application.

Would it be impossible to write software for this function?

I would find it tremendously useful seeing as the limited downloadable content from many of the Offline Map providers is somewhat depressing...ideally users want to outline the area they want, and download it at all zoom levels.
