jailbreak help

hi i need advice about jailbreak. my phone has previously been jailbroken and unlocked but unfortunately i lost it due to a update on 4.1 3gs because i had to restore my phone because it got stuck on apple logo. now i dunno whether to use greenpoison or limerain because i depend on a future unlock, what should i do? i believe both jb are untethered but im still confused as to which on to go with

Try greenpoison. Not as simple as jailbreakme.com but still pretty easy. Do not upgrade to the latest iOS 4.2! It will work on 4.1

does it erase the data from the phone? what changes can be expected after jailbreak?

It will not erase the data it is good to make a back up first of your phone. No real changes other than cydia added.
I personally like limera1n more but it is totally up to you.

limerain looks lil easier to perform, how have u found the jailbreak any problems? do u no if an unlock will be available for 4.1 anytime soon, im climing the walls lol

Linera1n is easy as for an unlock u can use iPad baseband or wait a few more weeks and hope the dev team has something to release

id rather wait cuz iv heard reports of gps not fuctioning on ipad baseband. iv messed my phone up once lol dont wanna make the same mistake twice.

Ok so your running 4.1 on 3GS? Use limera1n... I'm have the exact same phone and I did not have to upgrade to the iPad baseband to jailbreak and I am running 4.1... Limera1n is very easy

I would advise updating to 4.2.1 and backing up. Use Greenpoison (go to Redmondpie.com After jailbreak reinstall previous apps if you paid for them in the past you wont have to again because license was saved

just use limera1n and wait for an unlock. you can always try the ipad baseband down the track if an unlock doesnt eventuate.
whatsmore i tried greenpoison on a 3gs 4.1 and it wouldnt work. limera1n was easy and no issues.
