An app which would be like the cydia app which alows tethering from iphone internet to computer but a reversal where you would get internet for your ipod touch/iPhone from your computer

try not to be so simple. there are plenty of scenarios where this would be valuable. plus your tmobile scenario doesn't even make sense.

1. where no wifi or cell service exist(out in the sticks).
2. when the wifi is broken on the iphone or ipod touch.
3. troubleshooting.

I'd be interested in this capability. everytime I visit my mother all she has is a pc with satellite internet and a modem. no wifi and no att or roaming available.
