3G Autoswitch

Ok, firstly I'm not sure if such an app already exists and so not sure if I'm posting in the correct forum but...

Is there any easy way to have 3G automatically enable when I'm using an app that requires it but have it disabled otherwise?

Having 3G disabled obviously saves battery and I'm aware I can use sbsettings to manually toggle 3G as required but an autoswitch would seem like the best of both worlds?!

Does such a program exist? Would it even be possible?

nothing exist that im aware of. would be cool I guess.. But manually with sbs not so bad either
