iphone voice control through car stereo?

so here's the thing... i just got a 2010 golf tdi and it has an mdi cable for the iphone so that i can access the music through the stereo.. i am wondering if it's possible to also be able to access the phonebook and voice control. the stereo has bluetooth to answer calls but that's it. there is a phone button on the steering wheel to answer a call and hang it up... i am hoping that somehow the phone can be setup to allow this button to control voice control...

Maybe you can Sync the iPhone to the car stereo using the Bluetooth, then you might get the option to use these features of the Car...
