just and app to make the timer user defined amount of time. like BiteSMS has except a stand alone app thats built in to settings.

If you want, you could just change the lockscreen display time. There is either 20-second Lock Screen in Cydia, or another one that adds a slider to settings to change the amount of time.

For now i went for the user defined one, but here is my idea.

Creat an app that lets the user choose a specified amount of time (or never time out) so that if there is a new text he would be able to hit the home button to turn the screen on and slide to view the text no matter if the lockscreen was off or not. If persay he did not want to view the text at this time then the quick dismiss would come into play and he would hit the home button again and it would then just slide to unlock.

Does this make sense?
