Iphone Media Player (Ipod) position lock for audio books

Could someone please come up with a way that I can make the iphones "ipod" not forget where I am in an audiobook when I shut it down? OR is there already a way to do this? It is INCREDIBLY annoying to not be able to go back to where I was when I stop the book from playing.

I am not a big music person. I shut of the shake to shuffle feature faster than you can blink an eye, but I really enjoy books, podcast, comedy, etc., so a way to make the media player start again from it's last known location and file would be a godsend!

Hi Hal. Were you ever able to figure this out? I'm about 3/4 of the way through an audiobook and when I went to finish it, I found that it had started over. UGH.

This is probably a dumb question, but we have to start somewhere to troubleshoot this problem. Have you made sure that the "Remember playback position" box is checked?
