    Default quick brightness controll
i dont know if this is an app or a tweek but..

i have in the past moth gotton a dsi and i like the hold star and volume buttons to change the brightness and thought it would be handy if we could the same thing

i have made a picture of what i think it should look like

    edit:
i think it should be activated when we hold the home and volume buttons either up or down

I know this isn't exactly the answer you're looking for, but you can always use SBSettings and do it from there with relative ease. I'd say it takes me ~3 seconds on my 3GS to open SBSettings, fix brightness and close it.

Do you have SBSettings? If not, you are totally missing out. If you do, it is a built-in toggle. Open SBSettings > press More > Toggles > Brightness then it will add a slider to SBSettings to change the brightness.

^No, probably not then. Apple doesn't like you modding their GUI/functionality...
