I played with a Touch recently (not a defective one) and was sorta bummed at how much nicer the screen looked compared to my iPhone. On my phone, there's not much in the way of pure black...only a very very dark gray. On the Touch, the blacks were very rich and colors much punchier. By comparison, the iPhone (both my 8GB and my GF's 4GB) look a bit washed out and muted.
I think this could be remedied with software contrast tweak. It would be great to see one!
mcdjI'm so glad I don't have to meet The Internet People.

heh didnt notice you posted this.... I just posted something similar dealing with the negative black issue... although we have different reasons for asking for this app, in both cases.... It should be pretty useful!

The touch's screen is not nicer, it's the same screen. Your screen is just boned. You should call apple and get a replacement.
Here's the test. http://techmind.org/lcd/greyscale.html
