Edit Meta data

Is it just me, or has anyone else wanted the ability to edit the meta data for songs since they first owned an iPod? With a huuuge music collection, it's an absolute pain to take hours to go through thousands of songs and re-tag incorrect info.
Now that your device has a keyboard, wouldn't it be great to be edit song information on the fly?
For instance...When I'm listening to music at work (all the SFW stuff I have), and Richard Cheese's cover of "Get Down With the Sickness" comes on, after scrambling for the stop button, I can switch the category to NSFW. Or if listening to a playlist of darkwave and shoegazer, I can change the genre of the Misfits "Last Caress" when it blows out my eardrums.
Is such a program possible?
